Rajasthan, Mt. Abu – Nichlagarh

During our pilot training programme in Nichlagarh, the community was very keen to understand our model. However for such communities the household level implementation is only possible by collaborating with a strong local NGO or a grassroot’s organisation. Again, Rajasthan is one of the states in India which is in desperate need for solutions like this one due to lack of natural resources and extreme poverty. The biggest positives of this workshop was feedback from our host family who participated in building this chulha with us. We also got a chance to interact with Sarmi Bai, ex Sarpanch of Nichlagarh Gram Panchayat in Sirohi District of Rajasthan. Her accolades boast of meeting President Obama as an elected woman representative all the way in New York. Our team had the good fortune of conducting the smokeless chulah training programme in her house during our field work in Mt. Abu
